…but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:2 ESV)
What does it mean for your delight to be in the law of the Lord? Do you find joy in God’s instruction for your life? For many people they think that following God will limit their ability to have fun in life and it will prevent them from doing everything that they want to do. We must understand that God gives us His instruction on how to live because He loves us and wants the best for us. I own a dog, Runt, and because we care about him, we have a fence around our yard to prevent him from meandering into the road. To him, the road looks like a fun place to play. Chasing cars would entertaining. What he doesn’t understand is that while the road looks like a fun place, it is also a place that will in the end probably cost him his life. Therefore, I put rules in place to protect him because I love him. God has done the same thing for us, while a life of sin looks like fun, in the end it will cost us our life. A true good life is one that delights in the Lord’s instruction.
